Hi everyone, my name is casey!
I'm a Trottier Space Institute Fellow at McGill University who is passionate about rocky planets!

I'm originally from Vermont, land of Ben & Jerry's and Bernie Sanders. I graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.S. in physics in 2017. While in undergrad, I worked with professors Joanna Rankin and Dipanjan Mitra on pulsar emission mechanisms.
I then worked as an intern at the Berkeley SETI Research center, developing pulsar polarization calibration pipelines with Dr. Vishal Gajjar. Here I reignited my love of astrobiology and exoplanets!
I went to the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa for graduate school as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. I worked with Dan Huber and Lauren Weiss to characterize rocky planets and their host stars. For my dissertation, I explored the diversity of rocky planet compositions and the relationship between planet and host star chemical abundances. I got my Ph.D in June 2024.
I recently started my first postdoc at McGill University working with Nic Cowan. I plan to continue using ground and space based instruments to investigate rocky planets (and their host stars) across our galaxy!

I study planets around other stars, but outside of work I love to explore our own planet! I love hiking to ridgelines and waterfalls on O'ahu, and traveling across the globe. I'm an avid cook and baker, and love to try new cuisines. I've played the flute and piccolo in orchestras and jazz groups for ~20 years! |
